Lascaux II : immerse yourself in prehistory...

Eight kilometres from the Lascaux Vacances campsite, in the village of Montignac, the Lascaux caves were one of the most important archaeological discoveries of the 20th century. The frescoes there date from 15,000 years ago. These days the cave is closed to the public, but you can visit the replica site, Lascaux II, where you will be astonished by our ancestors’ artistic talents. Immerse yourself in fascinating prehistory by visiting the Musée National de la Préhistoire (National Museum of Prehistory) at Les Eyzies, a few kilometres from there.
Guided visits available, duration 40mins. Ticket on sale at the reception of the campsite.
